Refund Policy

Refund Policy for PCB Design & Circuit Services

BoardForge provides custom printed circuit board (PCB) design, layout, schematic capture, and related engineering services. All work is bespoke and created specifically for each client based on the information, schematics, requirements, and files you provide. Because these services result in custom digital deliverables (Gerber files, BOMs, schematics, layout files, etc.), the following refund policy applies:

1. Custom & Non-Returnable Nature of Work

PCB design services are custom engineering work. Once a project has been started or any deliverables have been provided, the work is considered non-returnable and generally non-refundable. Digital files and completed designs cannot be "returned" in the traditional sense.

2. Cancellations Before Work Begins

If you cancel a project before any design work has started, you are eligible for a full refund of payments received, minus a reasonable administrative/processing fee typically a 5% or a flat fee.

3. Cancellations After Work Has Started

  • Once design work has commenced, you will be charged for all work performed up to the date of cancellation (based on time spent or project milestones completed).

  • Any excess payment may be refunded at our sole discretion after deducting the value of work already delivered.

  • Partial refunds for incomplete projects are considered on a case-by-case basis only.

4. Revisions & Scope Changes

A reasonable number of revisions within the originally agreed scope is included. Revisions or changes requested after initial delivery, or that fall outside the original scope, are billable and not eligible for refund. Major scope changes may require a new quote and reset of applicable timelines.

5. Quality, Errors & Client-Supplied Information

  • BoardForge strives to deliver accurate, professional-quality designs. However:

  • BoardForge is not responsible for errors originating from client-supplied schematics, component selections, footprints, or manufacturing/assembly processes.

  • Final designs are provided “as-is” once approved or upon project completion.

  • Legitimate design errors attributable solely to our work may be corrected within a limited period at no additional charge.

6. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

  • Submit your request in writing via email to Jmillan@BoardForgePCB.com with:

  • Order/project reference

  • Date of request

  • Clear reason for cancellation or refund

7. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability

  • Services and deliverables are provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the maximum extent permitted by law. BoardForge's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees you paid for that specific project. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

8. Changes to This Policy

  • BoardForge reserves the right to update this refund policy at any time. The version in effect at the time you place an order will apply to that order.
